Maybe we should try to get potco staff here on the forums..

Wouldn't it be great if we have potco staff here on the forums so we can tell them what we want?

The decision is kinda a yes and no situation.

On the plus side, having a developer on here would allow them to frequently see all the ideas people have, as well as opinions on updates, events, etc. It would even be possible for them to ask us what we want to see put in to the game. But, with all positives, comes negatives.

First, I highly doubt a developer would be able to say too much without their bosses getting upset. Responses would more than likely be limited to a "Wow, great idea!" or "Thank you for your submission!", or the usual stuff that follows along those lines.

On top of that, it would be much more chaotic, for both ends of the spectrum. On one side, you have hundreds of pirates flocking to here just so they can get a chance to talk with a game developer, which would only make the forums harder and harder to comb for the mods. On the Disney side, you have this poor guy that has to shift through dozens upon dozens of messages everyday, which would only further break down their responses from personalized and intrigued, to bland, quick, and generic.

Don't think that Disney doesn't check here though. They've shown us plenty of times that they know we're here, and are recognized. The forums have been mentioned directly in an interview with the developing team, and I have seen pirates and topics from here referenced to in News Articles. So, just because they aren't on here "officially," doesn't mean they don't pop in once in a while.

Well not a lot of people know about the forums. but yeah i agree with the fact they they will be limited to posting the same message over and over again through command C command V. But it would be nice if they'd post here once in a while just to show that they are listening and they are currently working on something we posted here.

You know the Bugs, Barnacles, and Glitches section? Yeah, that. With all of those cool glitches that we learned how to do that are fun for us, like empty Kingshead used to be. With a developer or developers here, that would allow them to see all the bugs, so they could take them out. Bad bugs going = Good. Fun bugs going =/= good.

I personally am okay either way. As long as I am heard, fine by me.

Dog Firestack 01-26-2011 12:49 AM

They might be lurking!

titanic95594 01-26-2011 01:16 AM

I can see them in the glitch section often. And yes Dog, there could be lurking around... They might even be in this thread watching our posts!

There are known developers and GMs on Toontown forums. I don't see a reason as to why they wouldn't be here as well.

Captain Sharktooth 01-26-2011 11:49 PM

Yeah I agree it could go either way, but yes like what Del, Dog, and Davy said, they are most likely lurking! I hope they read my post haha! ^_^

JM Ohara 01-27-2011 03:13 AM

Actually I doubt they lurk. The best way to blend in would be to just be any one of us. That way they can come and go without suspicion. Just a thought.

We've had similar discussions on this before.. my feeling is yes they come here. Think about it.. you spend a large part of your day working on a project. Concurrently there are people examining and commenting on work you have already done.

Are you gonna LOOK and read what they are saying about this project on which you spend so much time, effort and thought?

I know I WOULD LOOK.

SEAKING23 01-27-2011 05:36 AM

LOL Disney doesn't even know what effort is. LAST RELEASE NOTES WHERE JAN. 7th!!! do i need anymore proof?

Tiberius Fireskull 01-27-2011 05:41 AM

Yes please... that isn't very important. They could have all of their workers trying to fix big bugs that have been sitting around for a while, and aren't too easy to fix. Or they want to release one BIG set of release notes fixing a few dozen bugs. You never know.

SEAKING23 01-27-2011 05:43 AM

Still.. i feel they could do better.
