OFFICIAL SIGN UP METHOD
If you do not need this, continue below

I would like to thank Batleth for giving me the ability to add you guys to our group/subforum myself, and have a new method for doing this.

Step 1: Fill out this application ALL THE WAY. If it is not filled out all the way, or you have something like (I don't have an example, but you can trust me), you won't continue in the process.

Step 2: You will recieve a PM from me with a one of a kind code, either remember it or copy it from the browser.

Step 3: Goto Group Memberships, find "The Reporting Pirate", and add yourself to it.

Step 4: You will be asked to request reason. Please enter you're code here, and I will add you. (All additions will be done between 4 to 4:30 EST on weekdays, and sometime before noon EST on weekends.)

This was made to keep the actual newsletter post more organized and on topic of the newsletter. Besides, I can post everything I need to here, and if I had done that in the other thread it would have been to clustered.
(Mods, if you all do not see this necessary, all I request is that I am given a couple hours notice of deleting this thread so that I can copy everything from here to the blog, thanks! ~.^)
Don't be afraid to sign-up! If it's the rules, I promise you that I'm not as strict as they might make me seem to you, I'm just keeping this running smoothly. If it's something else, post here and we'll talk about it. ^^

^.^ Info before you toss this aside. ^.^
  • Every single one of the writer and photography jobs will only take a few minutes of your time, and you have a long time to write the story or get the pic. (Provided its to me by a week before the 15th! ^.~)
  • If you're not very well known, this could be a big break for you!
  • You'll make new friends, and maybe learn something you never knew yourself!

News from your supervisors

If you have any questions, PM Jack Ironmalley, Silver Beard, or BadgerDog by clicking on one of the names.
One more thing, we ask that all our "crew members" subscribe to the POTCO blog, which is listed as mine. This is so that you can be reminded on when your stories are due and help vote on new ideas we have for the report.

Jobs in GREEN are needed, please sign up for these!
Jobs in WHITE are open, but not necessary.
Jobs in RED are full, obviously.

SIGN-UP APPLICATION
In order to take one of these jobs, you need to fill out this form. Also, something that isn't worth putting on the form, you need to be dedicated and somewhat-serious.

There is a Job Description File at the bottom of this post, if you apply for a job you will need to download this file as it contains what your job is about and such. There is a description for each group in a different file. Here is the list of what you should download

Supervisor and Co-Supervisors should download all files, that way they're ready to fill in for anyone.

Silver Beard 11-18-2007 07:23 PM

An Idea.

Advice and Tips are 2 (rather, kinda, sorta) different things so what if i do a short section like "Silver's Quick Tip." and do the photographing like you said in the pm? Oh and keep checking your pm's soon I will send you a "preveiw" for Silver's Tip. Oh and it might be a little while.

Jack I 11-18-2007 07:24 PM

Well, I'll wait to see your "preview" before I take off the red mark. Also, I prefer everyone only have 1 job, so that everyone here has a fair chance to do something.

EDIT: Silver, once again ye' got the job. PirateAhoy said, and I quote...

In other words, he won't get mad if I let you do a segment related to it too. I will just PM you your description/rules. (note: the one I'm sending you is different from the previous one

BadgerDog 11-18-2007 08:48 PM

What would the "Discussion Topic" be (In general)?

Jack I 11-18-2007 08:53 PM

Something like a poll, without the poll. For example in the november issue, I went back to a topic about whether we should be able to customize our ships. Other good examples of a discussion topic would be...

Should trading be in the game?
Gold for a frigate, is it worth it?
Are guilds really necessary?

...or something like that.

BadgerDog 11-18-2007 09:10 PM

Very well then, I'll take the Other Stories job.

* I'd like to be known as BadgerDog - Please don't put a space in between Badger and Dog and or not capitalize the D, I have a pet peeve about that.
* Other Stories
* This is a story series that many people liked on TTC: The Rewind Series.

Jack I 11-18-2007 09:17 PM

Very well, your first story can be on anything you like, forum or not. Since I have no photography job you may submit a picture to go with your story, but it is not required. This is due by Dec 10th. Oh, and unless all the "other stories" slots fill up, I'll need your topic before that.

Updates for 11/19/07:

(I feel desperate, with all this "semi" double-posting in my own threads. Oh well, some people enjoy this, and I won't let it die like my shop at TTC! ^^ Besides, it's been past 24 hours, so if I read the rules right this isn't double posting.)
  • Added a new job, photography! While we would prefer you sign in as a writer at this time, we do not mind you signing on for photography. Note to the wise though, we're looking for someone with good graphics who can take "semi" proffesional looking pictures, so if you sign up you must send a picture in to be judged. December 10th is the deadline to send your submission picture in, and the winners of the job will be announced in the December report!
  • Added head of photgraphy, this is the person who helps to make reviews images before being sent to me for final reviewing.
  • Added advisor, this person helps me make decisions on how we can improve the report.
*Notice* There is no photography.txt yet, I will put this in today or tommorow

Oh, and this will probably be the only job update this week, so...
:turkeytalk:Happy Turkey Day!:turkeydanceani:

Silver Beard 11-20-2007 04:40 PM

Aghrr! Thanks! And can I get a photographer to take a pic of where my tip is "based"?

Jack I 11-20-2007 08:54 PM

Well, I'm not going to put you down as one, since it's an entirely different job. Feel free to go ahead and take the pics though!

EDIT: I read your post wrong, whoops. I didn't really plan to have a photographer for anything but the stories, you can ask one of them to do it for you, but I can't promise it'll show up do to "room" issues.

Note on the photography since I didn't go into detail about that. Allure and I tweaked the idea so that instead of a writer being assigned to their own personal photographer, all you need to do is ask one to take a pic. ^^

Jack I 11-27-2007 01:25 AM

Ok, well update. Unfortunately due to the crash, we have temporarily (I hope) lost our "suprise" and sticky. I will re-update this thread and PM everyone what they need as of now ASAP

EDIT: To mistake:
If Allure PM'd you, you can come. It's more of a forum shop than a job, but I've seen you're work and we might work together on the site and newsletter, that is, if you want anyways. If she hasn't, I'm going to have to pull her out of the arcade. ^^

Jack I 12-08-2007 12:00 AM

I hate it when no-one posts here before an update, it makes me feel like I'm spamming the thread up (Course, I sorta am...)

Anyways, we have another new job available to clean up our news a bit...

EDITORS
The editors will have stories PM'd from me to each of them as evenly as possible to check for errors. Then they will PM the revised version to me to be pasted in the POTCO report. I'll try to get a rule/description file up soon, but here's the qualifications for the job.

Friendly
Good Grammer
Constant (On our forum enough to know that you have stuff to edit.)

Hope this opens up some opprotunities for everyone!

Ok, I hate having more than one post in a row at all, but sometimes it's necessary to the reprort. We're in need of members for the POTCO Report, and we know they're must be someone out there who can help us. ^^

We've got a bit of a new signup process, so I'm going to post it here instead of the first post.
Step 1: Post here with the application filled out above.
Step 2: After filling out the form and posting it here, our staff will review it. If you make it, I will send you an acceptance letter.
Step 3: Take this acceptance letter, and PM it to Nick, that way he can give you access to the Private Subforum.

Well, I posted the ways to sign up, now I'm off! *runs off to the safety of the sub-forum*

quill_fire 01-18-2008 07:04 AM

I'd be happy to be both a writer and editor. I write quite often for fun anyway. I could do like a continuing story piece perhaps with a new screencap everytime...like PotC comic type thing. Quill Fire is my name. Quill for short...heh.

Hmm...sample of my work...I'll write something here. "As the massive ships under Jolly Rodger's command loomed ever nearer, Captian Seagull shoted his orders to his crew. Their mutiney would have to wait if they were to see the sun rise again. "Hold your fire, men! Let them get near enough to strike!" A dead silence fell upon the ship, broken only by the groaning of the boards and the lapping of the seas. To be Continued...."

Jack I 01-18-2008 09:17 PM

Thanks for signing on, quill_fire. You're application is currently under review at our site, and we should hopefully know if you've been accepted by the end of the day. If so, I'll send Nick a PM asking for you to be added instead of just sending you
the letter. ^^

We have 2/3 for you, so you've made the cut. Here's you're final score as of now.
2 Yes
0 No
0 Undecided
1 Not voted

You'll be recieving a link to our site soon, and I'll be sure to PM Nick on your access to our subforum/your "reporting pirate" tag
