A Foot of Snow!
Here in New England the first big snow storm is just ending, leaving us with 1 foot of snow, an early dismissal today and no school tomorrow. My kids are bouncing off the walls so happy to have a long weekend! Remember those days?
They've played in the snow (and they're teens lol), brought the "big dog" out to play who proceeded to shake himself off all over my floors when he got in, and ate "real" snow cones made from freshly fallen snow (NOT the yellow stuff, tyvm!) I HATE winter and cold weather but I gotta admit this is a bit fun! I even got into the "run out and buy food as soon as the first flake hits" scenario today, along with half the city and took about 1/2 hour getting home which is usually a 5 minute drive. WHEW! :snowfight1: |
Oh man, I miss those days. It was 63 degrees here in TN yesterday. They're calling for 60 today. Everyone keeps looking at me weird because I'm still wearing shorts and t-shirts..lol Guess it's going to take me a few years to get used to the climate down here after living in the blizzards of OH.
PS. send me some snow:xgrin: |
Yep. Gotta love Massachusetts...
Driving through it, just before the plows arrived, was definitely not fun. And I can't even see my car now. *points to the giant pile of snow in the driveway, which has an SUV somewhere under it* *sighs* |
Batleth, tell Tepcat to get the spare room cleaned out, I'm coming down! LOL!
An even bigger storm is coming Saturday night into Sunday, so this should be something. Sheesh its not even winter yet! Zahlin, you might not see your car till spring! I just read that we had a total of 14 inches of snow last year, and yesterday's storm dropped 12 inches in one day. Just another storm horror story, it took one of our friends 6 hrs. to drive from work in Boston to home, which is normally an hour. People were stuck on the highways, running out of gas or just stuck and couldn't move. Of course all schools and businesses let out at once so the plows were stuck in traffic with everybody else, just a horror show. Where's spring, I'm ready! :xtongue: |
"A Foot of Snow!"
yes, but I just stepped outside and got a "snow of foot" (don't ask...I don't know what that means...it just sounded funny in my head...arr) |
Dolnor ponders... [Snow...hmm...snow...white stuff...cold? Snowcones, shaved ice in a cup with flavors added..that must be what they are talking about...but a foot tall snowcone...that would cause a freeze-headache for sure!]
Dolnor goes back planning what to do in sunny warm San Diego in the morning... MUHAHAHA! Eternally Warm Arr-bie |

A foot of snow on Wednesday.
More yesterday. And some big nasty blizzard forecast for the next 24 hours. Yes, here in Southern Ontario, I am building up a massive "freeze-headache"!! I was gonna take a pic of the cold nasty outdoors this morning but theres so much ice on the windows, I can't even see the thermometer!!! |
i only got three inches here in pa. Lucky, i wish there was a foot here.
|
We in Boston got maybe 6 inches today. Then it rained, and a lot of it went away/into slush.

It's nice to hear your kids are enjoying the snow and I hope you all stay safe for the bigger storm headed your way.
Where I live in old England we haven't had a decent snow fall for over 12 years, some snow would be preferable to the gale force winds we had last night that blew tiles off the roof and knocked down garden fences although the tiles were probably loosened by the recent earthquake which shook almost the entire country. Nice photo OutlawZ, if anyone has more I'd love to see them. |
