Huge Alligators

Does anyone know where i can find huge alligators? I have looked all over Cuba and in the Tortuga river. Is there anywhere else they are?

Go into Misty Mire (far left side of Tortuga) and keep going but stay to your left. You'll see a couple torches on the left side. Go in there, and there is a Huge Alligator a little more down, it should respawn right as you pass it.

Good luck ;)

Hint on killing the huge gator. I went on the porch of the building. He was unable to attack me, and I killed him. :xlaugh:

Doc Grog Quest

Yes, I have the same problem. I have been trying to find the huge aligators, but unsuccessful. Are there anywhere?

I'm pretty sure there's still at least one in Misty Mire on Tortuga. You have to go past the higher level undead near the gravestones, then it's off to the left of the Giant crab, in the corner by a shack.

There are always two or three in the jungle on Cutthroat Isle, and in El Sudoron (the jungle of Padres del Fuego). The ones on Cutthroat are probably easier to get to if you are a lower level, because you can sneak past most of the higher level undead to get to the gators.

The ones in the jungle of PDF are pretty easy to get to once you get into the jungle, but you have to go through Beckett's Quarry to get there, which can be a challenge for lower level pirates.

I have been having trouble as well finding meself a huge gator...they didn't seem to be this rare previously, but now that I need one for a gunner rum quest, they are nowhere to be found. Thanks for the advice Eliza, I will check your spots later today!

One huge alligator found

I found one at El Sudoron (the jungle of Padres del Fuego). If you swim around the island from the docks you can access the jungle right from the beach. Huge alligator is inside the jungle right be the water.

I found some in El Sudoron today also, it's not too tough once you get there. Funny, I'd never thought of swimming around Padres to get to the back beach, but I'm sure it would work. Just make sure you swim counter-clockwise from town, otherwise it would probably take you a lot longer to get there.

I spent over an hour last night repeatedly killing the Huge Gator in Misty Mire (along with Fly Traps, Giant Crabs and various Undead). It only takes a minute to reach it -- no sailing or swimming required -- and you don't even need to go past the higher level Undead or the Giant Crab. Here's what you do:

Enter Misty Mire through the swamp by the Tortuga Docks.

At the bottom of the bridge when you enter is a small spit of land, usually inhabited by a Rock Crab and a lower level Undead. Kill them and move on towards the left. There may be a few low level critters (Swamp Gators) and Undead (Pirates) in this area, but they shouldn't be a problem to deal with.

Now, BEFORE you reach the little gathering of higher level Undead (Witchdoctors, Brigands and Grenadiers), you will see a torch-lit opening on your left. Pop into this passage. You should see a Fly Trap growing there.

You are now safely separated by a wall from the higher level Undead, as you proceed past (or kill) the Fly Trap. The passage will veer slightly to the right, then left again. You will find another Fly Trap there, but you will still be protected from the higher level Undead on the other side of that wall.

Just past this second Fly Trap is a shack on stilts rising above the swamp water. If there isn't a Huge Gator already in the water in front of the shack, it will spawn just past the wood ramp leading up to it. (Although I killed a few that were LVL 18, the majority of the spawns were in the 15-17 range.)

Happy hunting!

As I mentioned in another post

lots of "huge" gators in the river, inside Cutthroat isle.

nikodog 12-20-2007 03:47 PM

if you need a huge aligator me and my friend struggled with it until i accidently landed on cutthroat isle and went in to the two torches. When i went in there it was the scariest place i have been. I went to the rive in about the middle and there are about four huga aligators just sitting there. So take some tonic or a friend and finish that quest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:xlaugh:

I'd get eaten alive if I got into a fight with one... o_o
