Sinking upon boarding a flag ship
Twice in a week now just as I board a flagship it sinks and takes me down with it. Is this a bug? I end up in jail but there is no damage done to my ship so I don't have to repair it. Anyone know what's happening?

That one is new to me. When I have had trouble with the flagships, I usually have cleared them and cant return to my own ship. Sounds like a bug report needs to be sent on that one.

Also be sure you're not using firebrand cannonballs on a flag ship, because that will sink it, too.

Never thought of that. Don't remember if I used firebrand or thunderbolt. I will take note next time. Thank you. :) I guess that also means if you don't want to board a flagship use firebrand to sink it so you don't have to wait for the timer? Kley |
Pretty much. Firebrand and Thunderballs do too much damage to the ship. But I don't think you get any plunder if just sink a boardable ship.

I have not seen any instance of lightening sinking a flagship, but I have seen and caused the sinking using firebrand.
You get only experience notoriety for sinking a flagship, and when I have full cargo or am working only for points, I sink them everytime. |
Ok, I'll remember that. Thank you guys.
OT - Is there a best ship to sink for Royal Chests? Kley |
War ships, especially if it's a flagship, seems to be the best for me.
And EITC seems to give a higher payout than Navy ships |
Much appreciated. :)

I encountered this yesterday as well...it really didn't sit well with me between going down on a defeated flagship, getting damage from any enemy in sight regardless of level, getting less rep points for kills, and not getting a single piece of gold from defeating these enemies. POTCO better turn some of these around, especially the gold one, or I will not be renewing my subscription.
