Healing yourself with Voodoo
 

Can you target yourself and heal yourself with Voodoo? I need to know before I take that skill. Thanks! :)

Not to my knowledge.

Also another thing to keep in mind is that you only get rep points when you heal someone and they kill the monster. Otherwise you only heal them and that's it.

It's a good skill, I would REALLY suggest getting it. It's awesome if you need to team up with some people.

The voodoo doll does not offer an attune yourself to heal option, but it does offer you the Life Drain skill.
When you unlock this one, the life you drain from the enemy is added to your own. At the current time, this is the only way to heal yourself in battle, and I have used it many times to escape the Naval Vacation Resort, otherwise knows as the jail.:xgrin:

Thanks guys! Both you of are very helpful. I decided to take the Cure as it heals quite a bit of stuff. The life drain looks good and will wait to put quite a few points into that once I hit voodoo level of 20.

You can buy potions from a gypsy to heal yourself with. Just hit the "T" key to use one while in combat. Depending on which potion you buy, depends how much you get healed. The recharge time for you to be able to use another potion is very long. Most often, the combat will be over before it recharges.

Healing via voodoo by other or you healing them is far better way and you can heal or be healed multiple times during a combat. If you up your attunement so you can do multple people, you can heal a small party of pirates helping in a combat. Of course, your healing power gets divided between the amount of pirates you are trying to heal. So you can heal 1 pirate quite well or heal a little bit to several pirates at once. It's a good way to get some good rep while doing no real combat but helping several of your friends stay alive in a rough combat.

Thank you. I am aware of the Tonic healing but always on long adventures run out quickly, so I was looking for a magical healing ability. I appreciate the advice. :)

One cheesy way to heal yourself during combat is fighting next to any NPC who heals, like the workers in Beckett's Quarry. It's 5 gold a shot but I was making more than that for each guy I killed there.

The only pitfall that can happen is a bug where the menu vanishes and you're left staring at the NPC while being attacked.

About the Tonics, I think they're pretty much useless unless you're currently not battling and you don't have time to wait for your health to recharge before entering another battle. They should take off the wait limit. If I were a pirate and were needing to use a Tonic, I would not have anything stopping me from pulling out another.
