What about the other ships?

We all know about the SOTL, but what about the other ships that were released the same day on the Test Server (like the Phantom)?

What did they look like? Do you have any pictures?

CarribeanThunder 06-05-2011 06:45 PM

There was the Kingfisher, Warlord, Cerberus, Phantom and Revenant that came along with the Ship of the Line. They were - and are - meant to give us "Special" broadsides like Firebrand and Thunderbolt, which was something that was of much talk on the Forums a while back.
The Kingfisher120,000 Gold
The Warlord was 180,000 Gold
The Cerberus was 140,000 Gold
The Phantom was 170,000 Gold
The Revenant was 190,000 Gold
There are videos out there showing the ships back then.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzl6dqoDryQ shows the ships at a Shipwright's "Purchase" section.

The only known ship that was purchased was the

...which had Chainshot Broadsides, 1,200 HP - yes, half a Light Sloop's HP - space for 14 cargo like any War Sloop, and room for 3 players (as if crew capacity really matters anymore these days).

Really, aside from the Chainshot broadsides being horribly pathetic, and the Hull being dreadfully weak, it's not that bad to sail a Kingfisher.
This video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbgjLEyTdz8 shows the Kingfisher itself.

Lotsa links, yes indeed. Go view them!

Interesting... I wonder why this was hardly mentioned? It was all SOTL SOTL SOTL... probably because the other ships didn't really have a point. Were you able to attack other players' ships?

CarribeanThunder 06-05-2011 07:51 PM

I tried mentioning it as much as I could on many threads related to the new ships.

No, you couldn't, nor could other players attack you. You could only attack NPC ships, and they would engage to you if you got too close, just like any other ship.

Dark_Pixie 06-05-2011 10:22 PM

So why did it have Navy flags if it was just a war sloop with a chain shot broadside...? Confusing stuff.

HammyTheSquirrel 06-05-2011 10:41 PM

Aye. I agree with DP. Why not just make ship customization and let you choose certain broadsides to go on your ship? It would be WAY more efficient.

CarribeanThunder 06-06-2011 12:30 AM

Well, it IS a Kingfisher, so...
Why they don't do this for Ship Customization, I don't know or care, as long as we can sail enemy ships. Disney has a strange way of thinking, and sometimes I like it...
