Cutlass Level is limited
 

I am level 11 noriety and my cutlass level is 7
the experience doesn't go up any more even if I attack veterans which are level 16
how is this?

Sounds like you are a Basic Access member. You can't get past lvl 7 on your weapons without Unlimited Access.

yes if u are not a paying member the highest u can make your weapns go is to lvl 7 after that u can go no farther until you become a member

what about sailing

it is the same for every weapon level, sailing, cannon, cutlass, and pistol
also watch out bc i know there is a certain point where the game wont let free players go on with the black pearl quest

yes it stinks but level 7 is basically the limit for limited access members. If you enjoy the game, consider paying for it. It will also give you access to the voodoo doll which is by far my favorite weapon. I am bummed out that I have mastered it now and am not able to earn rep using it anymore. :(

I got so frustrated as a Basic member on the first day with the long wait that I just up and paid for the game right then and there.

It definitely is a pain that they hook you in like that, but it is really smart of them, I must admit. And don't Basics only get cutlass and pistol, and nothing else? You're missing out on so many cool weapons - like grenades! Come on and join us...then you can blow yourself up like the rest of us. Plus I think you get better PvP options as well (you can do Team battles).

I'm guessing the answer is no, but just out of curiosity... Anyone know if you still get notoriety points, even though you dont get experience points, on the weapons after level 7 (basic access members)? That would be kinda cool and uberish to be able to reach higher notoriety levels, even though you couldnt' take your weapons beyond level 7.

lol true, after months of work u are a notority lvl 40 however all u weapon level are still at 7

Im with you on this. Im guessing the answer is no, based on the fact that basic access members are limited with weapons and story lines, I would also think this applies to overall notoriety. I know as a paying member, I would be pretty frustrated with a free access pirate at max notoriety.
