Awards...
 

What are the point of these awards? You give them out on THE holiday they happen.... and not any time else. So.. If we want awards we should not do things with friends and family but come to these forums instead to get our award?? I think they're really cool and I want to collect them BUT i can't get them if I have a life. For the fourth for example I was with my family all day.. I came online to check my mail not to come on forums for games... I was out at fireworks and cooking out with my family.. but now its only a day later and I can't get the fourth of july award... I have a life but I would like to get some awards too...


Maybe a "I have a life award?" for those of us not able to be on holidays because we are with people in real.. and not on games forums.. :laughks2:

Of course being with your family is important on holidays, but your not being punished for not coming on to get it. If you really wanted the award while you were checking your mail you could've came on POF for 5 minutes and submitted the request. Other than that seems like it's too late. Maybe they might take some late requests, or you might just have to wait until next year. If you had asked maybe somebody could've requested the award for you.

Sometimes you get a second chance to get some of the year's Holiday awards at the end of the year. If you missed out on this award, you'll have a second chance.

As Caribbean Thunder stated, at the end of the year, usually around Christmas time, we give everyone a chance to request the awards that they missed. Of course, you have to either check in and request them or ask a friend to be sure to request them for you. There are quite a few members of this forum who take the time to make sure their friends have the award and also guild leaders who request for their guild members.

Honestly, it takes but a minute or two of time to quickly click the request button if you want the award that badly.

As for the 'point' of the awards - well, we've always thought they were a nice, fun extra for our members. They take time to create, upload, set up and then give out. Amazingly enough, we all have lives too and there has to be some kind of limit to how long each award is up for or the process would be never ending.

I just think that things like this should last a little longer than 24 hours... and POforums isn't really the top thing on my list when I log on... I run my own sites that i would check before I came here..

Well to get the award it should be a little longer than a day is what I'm saying.. If you post it the DAY of the holiday then I never come online... I'm with my family doing things that are important the DAY of the holiday of course if you run your own site then you can't just not get on ur computer for a week if you want the site to stay so I'm on usually the day after the holiday... but so far I've missed a ton of awards that I see the morning after the holiday that I can't get because I was doing things the DAY of the easter,fourth of july.. and all the others I've missed...

They are up longer than 24 hours;-) We don't keep them up for a week since holidays don't last for a week. The exception being the holiday award which is usually up from the end of November until the end of December or first of January.


The point of making priorities is to do what matters most to YOU. Are the awards important to you?

As stated in this thread, Tom-you can get others to request the awards for you. I have done that in the past for pirates. Although, I have to admit that I have been lax the last several holidays due to rl stuff. And, pirates have done it for me for which I am very grateful....

Well :P I don't need others to do it for me.. I'd just think they should last a little longer. Cause I log onto this site almost everyday except holidays.. but I always miss the awards...

The awards are very nice and I would like to gather some.. They're not extremely important to me.

Tom, I'll keep you in mind when new awards come out.
