Release Notes - January 8, 2008 Test Server

Not sure if this is the correct forum but here they are:

Release Notes - January 8, 2008
  • Added a 7-day fullscreen preview. New accounts will start the game in fullscreen mode. After 7 days, the game will revert to a windowed mode with ads.
  • Crew teleport issues should now be fixed.
  • Fixed a bug preventing family accounts with a large number of pirates from logging in.
  • Increased the Notoriety gain for Voodoo Staff (except for the Blast skill, which was reduced).
  • Reduced the amount of damage a lower level enemy deals to a higher level player.
  • Added a fix so that players can't kill Jack the monkey during the pistol tutorial.
  • Complete clothing system re-write to increase efficiency when rendering avatars.

Aww. I liked killing Jack!

That is awesome! Thanks for the update.
I sure wish they could fix the bug about Vista and Mac users about getting on to a ship, docking, or teleporting to someone on a ship.

Can't wait till these hit open! The first one is a great idea by disney, because of how much lag people experience with ads. They can now that when they buy it they won't lag so much.

Happy we can now teleport to our crew members! :)

Voodoo staff more notoriety gain? Does that mean more rep gain for the Staff also... right?

And the best for last! Finally they can't do so much damage to us! I hope the change it a big enough damage decrease that was can notice.

I wish they'd fix the Becketts Quarry bug. I need to go in there for quest items and it's impossible. Everything is layered all at once making it impossible to see where I am or where I'm going.

Turn off Reflections under the Graphics tab in Game Options and you will be able to see fine in Beckett's.

Aye, reflections is the problem. In beta, they fixed this once after many people reported it. Since the updates, it is rearing its ugly head once again. Time to squash it once more.

Still no Black Pearl Quest, huh? Unbelievable.

I wish they would put back in the feature of launching ships in phase 1 of beta. I LOVED the feature that we could pull our ships all the way in to port, dock them, swing down into the water, and go on to land. That was so much fun. And it stinks that they upped the damage that lower level enemies do to us. Now a lame gravedigger can kill us as fast as an Undead Raider. And, no new quest chapter or the boss battle. I am only 55% done with pearl quest - waiting a couple more days until I get staff.

Thank you, Weeb. I will try that.
Oh, should I turn it back on once I'm finished in there. I'd miss reflections in the rest of the game...wouldn't I?
