Membership from Movie Rewards?

OK so I have enough points on DMR for a one month membership for Pirates, but on 1the website it says it's only good for new accounts that have never have a membership.. I'm not sure if this is true, but I don't want to get it and it not work. So my question is if anyone has gotten a membership code from DMR and used it on an account that has had a membership in the past? Thanks in advance. :)

I noticed this too yesterday.
I have never had membership on my account. I know it said it had to be a new account.
So I was going to get that reward when I have more time to
play pirates.
