Something Weird

Ok so um after 15 days of playing with the name 'Nic The Master' I get a message that says to rename my pirate.
Anybody else have this happen?

Leon Dreadpratt 02-01-2012 01:59 AM

Thats weird. How far did you get in 15 days? Hopefully not so far that it is going to be a huge pain to have to start a new pirate, unless you don't mind being named pirate or buccaneer or something. Im not sure but it might be "master" that they don't like. I think they don't like you putting titles like "captain" in your names. But they don't seem to be too stick about it as a lot of people do. I actually named my second pirate "Master." Could just be bad luck.

That is odd. Sounds like someone took offense and reported you.

Contact Tech Support using their Live Chat. Just asked why you got the message after 15 days and see what they say about it. The guy you end up chatting with is likely to be sympathetic to your cause, but if the policy states that it is offensive and therefore must be changed, then he'll help you change it to something else more appropriate right away.

I honestly don't see anything offensive about it. Is 'chief' offensive too? lol I hope not. If your name has to be changed, how does Commodore Nic sound to you, Nic?

Names containing things like "Master","Lord", "Lady", "Captain" are supposedly against the EULA Rules. Most the time you won't get caught (I know some who have had Captain in there name since Day 1)

Its my view that you annoyed someone in the game and they reported your name just to a 'smelly orifice' (PG Rated) in hope of getting you into trouble. Also this game is pretty much full of a lot of kiddies that think its 'fun' to cause people grief and look for any way to do it.

Cheers

Well, that might be it. I wanted to name my second pirate "Captain Otter", but I had to change it to "Capin Otter" I really didn't know why.

Morgan_Blackhart 02-01-2012 10:49 AM

Well I started as Lady Blackhart...and played for like 4 months then I suddenly got a message telling me to change it. This was oddly right after I reported a little boy for using very foul language on my ship (screen shotted) and told him I ws reporting him.

I find that whole rule strange, especially since some of the GMs have these "titles"... like Captain Xavier Hench.

Thats prolly why. They don't players being confused with NPC's or GM's

Military terms were taken seriously after Infamy. A lot got away with them before Infamy thought it was not allowed but it wasn't much of a problem Back then... If you had captain or admiral(or some other term) in your name well before infamy, you could have asked for them to return it but after infamy, they were all stopped. They took the title master of your name because "War Master" is part of the final infamy rank in PvP...

-No military rankings. For example: Captain, Admiral, Lieutenant, Commodore, Capt., Lt., etc.

It is not good that you have to do it like that is it don't you think it is bad or not

Pirabeen 05-24-2012 08:51 AM

That's too bad for players, I think they should change something

Davy_Mcwrecker 05-24-2012 08:28 PM

This is a PIRATE game. For KIDS. Doing no Captain's is like letting a kid go through a candy shop without buying anything.

Dark_Pixie 05-24-2012 09:48 PM

I think Disney might release an update giving the player these titles at some point. They've already started with the military rankings.

Pangolin 06-11-2012 04:04 AM

A warning from Disney? That's weird. But I agree with Pixie, that may be the case.
