Minor Quests

Lots of Minor Quests

I wondered if there was an alternative to this interminable Black Pearl crew quest. I'm a little tired of all the running around, the people who keep changing their minds and say, "Oh, just one more thing ...."

So I created a couple of lower-level characters and had them knock on every door in the populated areas, asking about quests. "Hello, do you need any dragons slain or garbage taken out?" The results of an incomplete study were:

Yeah, unfortunately there is no way around the Black Pearl. It is a long quest, but it is what has to be done. You could do those extra quests on the side, but it will just add more work. I have been looking for this though! Need new quests... Thanks Rose!

Exceot most of the quests seem to cut out about the time you hit tenth notoriety. The only ones which don't are about three or four in the upper town of Padres del Fuego.

As far as the Black Pearl quest is concerned, I am at the 99% point. The last message I got was that I had to get a crew together and do the boss battle. That's not much guidance. Can anyone explain in a little more detail what this means?

It means you have to get some people into your crew. There should be a button in the journal that says to do the boss battle. Click on it when everyone is crewed and you should all be teleported into the boss battle.

I found my way to Las Pulgas a while back. There are "normal" townsfolk inside the buildings while undead roam the streets. You can even pick up one or more quests there. I found:

Eugenio Fausto in F
o[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=4]usto's Jewelry Store in Las Pulgas gives out a high-level quest.

I'll have to check it out, to see if there are any more small quests there ... if I ever get time.

I have added a third listing for Las Pulgas.

Is there any place like these that I have missed?

Those images are way to small for me to even see, I clicked but they are still way too small.

They are supposed to be thumbnails that blow up into larger images, but I can't get them to enlarge, either. Something is wrong, so I shall try reloading them.

Revised list of minor quests posted above.

I found a couple more and determined the minimum level necessary for some of the others.

WOW! Let me be the first person on the forum to say pretty cool you made this list. Simple with no spoilers. Easy to check to see if a quest is missed. Keep up the good work.

I have a second character - male, name of David Badfoote - whose job is to go around to all the quest locations as he gains a level and check them out. Unfortunately he doesn't get a lot of play as I am trying to get CR up to 50th level, and that takes priority.

Sort of fun playing a guy. I figure I don't have to be polite. They really lumber along when they run, too. Unfortunately the clothes for guys are not as interesting as those for women (or is that just my point of view?)

I have also confirmed that men only pick up male clothes in loot, and women only female. What a strange coincidence!

I have a guy as well. Strictly for a different point of view. They run different, (personally I think slower and more clumsy), so it is interesting to see how artists designed all that, including clothing and hair. Even weapon use is different I think.

Great list!

rabidrabbit 03-16-2012 04:57 PM

Nice job! How long did it take you?

Wow, I can't imagine going door to door to every person in the game asking every person in the game for a quest.

Why is it many of the minor quests in Tortuga and most of the quests in Padres del Fuego never seem to become available? Every time I go and visit them, at every level, they are greyed out.

I'm beginning to suspect that some of the quests are not level dependent as much as weapons proficiency dependent. That would explain some of the quests not being offered, but not all of them.

Is there a maximum number of quests a character can have at any one time? If so, this may explain why several of the quests just never seem available.
