Disapperaing Chats
 

I know there is a filter in place that catches certain words and what not but have been having whole typed chats disappear to who ever im talking too but it is showing on my screen like it went thru.

most of the ppl in my guild are also having the prob with "ghost chats" so its not an isolated incident with just a few ppl

Yep had that problem alot today a guild member would ask me something and a few minutes after i answered the member would ask again or ask if i was gonna help them, so from what i was told most messages weren't going through i've places a bug report for this.

I've been getting the old chat messages reappear in my chat box. It would show a member that was online early that day's comment again. I felt like I was having really bad Deja Vu. Then I would reply and the pirate had no clue what I was talking about.. Or even worse the pirate hadnt been online for a least an hour.:psmiley27:

Yes, this is very irritating. I find it happens most often with crew chat and whispers.

YOu may find that the people who are missing the words are under 18 and you dont have the Plus sign showing in your chat box as I have noticed this a while ago after wondering why people kept on asking me the same questions, if you click the box next to chat so that the plus sign is showing and then retry they should be able to see the chat.

That could be, but the people I talk to most are all over 18, or so they say by things they've said in chat ;)

even though the age group in our guild does vary, biggest majority of us are over 18 so the age shouldnt be causing it.
as rose said, it happens mostly in whisper and crew chat although i have had it happen in guild but just not as much.

I once changed characters, and I could see guild chat from my other person's guild. The second person I switched to was not in that guild, but I could still see their guild chat. Weird?

I get expired guild chat when I open up my guild list, or sometimes when i acess my friends list. It happens on both my pirates too. As for the parental controls, one way to find out is go to whisper to a person. if the plus sign comes up you know they have them on. Then they can only hear you when its on.

Missing chat, heres the fun part. Try typing a whole sentence, then type it out 2 words at a time. Most of the time the whole sentence will be blocked because of one word. Guess they figure us pirates as dim and have to keep the sentences short.

If it was just missing chat that was the problem, it could be dealt with easier. But when it appears to have gone though on your end, but the other end doesn't see it, that's when there's a problem.

well last night our guildmaster robert badbones logged off for the night 30 minutes later he says Ahoy! i go and look and he was not on O_o

Sometimes Chris, it will show on your end, but because of one word, wont on theirs

no it was weird bc then i asked the guild and everyone on at the time said yea they heard him talk also :laughks2:

usually ghost chat appear when i click "Show Member" button in the guild panel
