Better if You're Full Member?
 

Is the game less laggy and glitchy if you're a full member? By "laggy" I mean slow and unresponsive at moments.

Hard to say, depends if you're confident in your PC's performance and internet connection.

If you have a reasonable setup and you're still lagging unlimited will help with the fullscreen mode and no adverts, not to mention all the extras you'll be able to unlock.
Also check pirates.exe for a memory leak using task manager and the processes tab when the game is running, I get bad lag when it starts to take up more than 600,000K of RAM (roughly takes up 300,000K when first loaded) and my PC has 2 gigs.

a lot lag is server side. are you are only lagging up in areas where there are high concentrations of people? what are the circumstances of the lag? my computer has a 3.1 cpu, 3.75 gigs of ram and a 512 video card. it usually isnt my computer when lag happens, but it happens. look at your surroundings and made a judgement call.

now if you are one of the ones that gets in their light sloops and hawks the other players flagship in your tight little group of 30 boats surrounding the flagship while someone else is trying to hook it, it is almost deffinately your computer.

yea being a member i wont decrease the lag dramatically but u can do soooo much more

Such a hard choice. If I become a paid member, I'll have to quit another online game I've loved so deeply.
