Davy's Graphics Shop, now open!

Lately I've been practicing a lot for graphic designing, and I've gotten pretty good. Tell me what you want, and I'll try and do it!

I specialize in creating templates for signatures. If you want a wood or parchment template, let me know and I'll make you one!

Note: I don't think characters can be cut out from screenshots in my image editor, GIMP. If you want a signature/avatar with your player in it, you will need to crop down your screenshot to just your player or accept the fact that the background of your screenshot will be the background of your signature.

Ok!

Future Ideas:

I'll try to think of something for you to work on and practice with.

Sorry, I can't do screenshots like that. I haven't learned how to crop down to just a character yet. For that, you should ask Shadow Cat or Jack Ironmalley.

Lucy 05-07-2008 02:27 PM

aw, ok, I'll see if Shadow Cat will help me out then :)

Davy 05-08-2008 02:56 PM

Your best bet would be Jack Ironmalley for that kind of thing. He got some hi-tech thing meant for making and editing images.

Lucy 05-08-2008 03:12 PM

Shadow Cat is taking a stab at it for me, but thanks for the honesty and advice *pirate hugs :D*

Hey, have you tried using another image program to cut out the character from the background? Most basic programs (like Paint) allow you to do that- its not simple you have to manually go around the image you want, but it IS possible.

...like Photoshop?

Anyway, yeah, you should really look around the net for some other programs because there's a bunch of them that can crop an image (lol...like Paint stated above). Keep up the work, you'll only get better.

Paint Shop Pro X actually, I don't like photoshop. Used the trial, just too non-user friendly for me. ^^

Davy 05-08-2008 10:47 PM

I am terrible at cropping down a character with eraser or paintbrush. If anyone knows of a free, internet-downloadable program that can detect people/characters and crop them out of an image automatically, let me know.

Shadow Cat 05-08-2008 11:34 PM

Photoshop has this great magnetic lasso tool that automatically finds edges. I found it very useful for cutting out pirates.

I didn't find Paint Shop Pro any more "user-friendly" than Photoshop. I own PSP XI but I never use it because I prefer Photoshop's variety of easy-to-use tools.

Does GIMP have an edge-detector?
