Wording in POF Policy & Guidelines

As a new member, I read the forum policy and guidelines before posting. While doing so, I found this:

Quote:

discussions about mental illness or disease that may be inappropriate for normal adults
I understand why you wouldn't want this discussed; I'm not disagreeing with your claim that this is potentially a problematic discussion topic. It's just that, as someone who has a mental illness, I did a double-take at the phrase "normal adults." I'm sure your intent wasn't to imply that people with mental illness are not normal, which is why the wording doesn't offend me - but I think it might read better if you changed the wording. Maybe just say "discussions about mental illness or disease that may be inappropriate," and leave it at that?

Again, I don't want to start off my time here as a complainer, and I'm not offended because, like I said, I know there wasn't ill intent behind the wording. I just think that particular phrase could be written in a better way.

Thanks for your time!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We completely understand how the wording could be misunderstood and we have revised that particular policy.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any other concerns or comments.
