Do you ever leave a guild because

they never helped you or they we never online? I did my first guild "Waterball Rip" they never helped me in anyway. One person from the guild only used me to tp anywhere I was because he had to be there to do something for a quest. I hated that. Now I'm in a wonderful guild called "Pirate Thugs" they are one of the best guilds I've been in. They are always helping me and I help them. I like to help people who are lower levels then me even if they are not on my friends list or guild it makes me feel good.

I've never left the guild I created, its got ties beyond POTCO, however from what i've read in these forums, this is a common problem. New players jump in, create thier "guild" and then just start requesting everyone join. They grow weary of the game and disappear etc.. and nothing.

I advise everyone thats not having fun in thier current guild to look for another.
Have fun and enjoy the game.

I was recently feeling pretty glum about my current guild. Nobody was interacting with anyone else. Was really looking to leave and find a new guild. I expressed my opinion to a couple of members and low and behold they were feeling the same way. The past week we have been totally interacting and have become what I thought a guild should be... Fun!

If you are not in a guild that suits your needs then i say find a new one. A good guild just makes the game that much more fun.

That's part of the way Dragon Claw ended up being for me. One of the many reasons I left. Now I'm a free agent....

Same, in the guild I was in 'Starbuccaneers', the GM, who was also a really good friend of mine, seems to have quit. Which was a double-blow.
I ended up leaving that guild, & I haven't joined another since, so I'm a free agent too.
You should see the amount of guild requests I get per day -.-

When I first started, I basically accepted the first invite I got...because I didn't know any better. I think it was called the Pondgorman Guild...or something.

Anyway, there were people on, but no one ever said anything, and certainly didn't do anything. I left pretty quickly, and really had no desire to join another guild after that; I didn't see the point. Ali's basically been a loner ever since (and when I think about it...I really like her that way :laughks2:).

That said, I am VERY happy that I found the War Wenches here - I've had tons of fun with them on Piper. :)

People should declare independence in a declaration of independence should the bonds that tie them grow grievous. Anywhoo, some of the funnest guilds may be the most restrictive ones: for instance, only allowing women (pushing me to the point of infuriation!!!) or not allowing leet speak (as Lu calls it) make for some stranger yet strangely wholsome interactions. A City Journal article I read said people are happier when they aren't as gifted with options yet choose anyway. Yada yada yada, I forgot the jist, oh well.

I started a guild among my friends once, but that fell second to myself being in a friend-formed guild (this was a guild of people he friended in real life too, not POTCO players). Anyway, I turned out to be one of the only good recruiters in the guild, as I am the only one. Yee! Good fun among us, shall we meet online.

yes leave it if u dont enjoy it. and learn to chose ur freind carefully , dont be afraid to delete someone, but most of all enjoy the game, who need drama.

I also get tons of requests, usually from lvl 6 or below. These are mainly kids who can't spell, with a seriously stupid guild name. They don't say hello, or anything. They just want you to add to their already pathetic numbers, and think they're hot snot, because they just bought a Light Galleon.

I guess higher-level free-agents are big targets for ANNOYING little brats like this...plus, many of them just keep pestering you, because they can't take NO for an answer....

I founded my guild after getting unlimited, and bought over a few friends from my old game. We have slowly grown, picking out people we have fought with or crewed with and I think we have a great bunch of people now. Sometimes guild chat can be full of all sorts of chat, although recently we are requesting one to one chatters to crew up and move chat out elsewhere.

I also jumped at the first guild request I got. I knew it was only temporary though and still have the old GM on my friends list.

If you don't like the guild you are in, for any reason, leave and find a new one. You won't know if the next is gonna be any better, but I would find the game too lonely to be a free agent. I enjoy the banter with my guildies

I got many guild invites each time I logged in too, and wasn't really interested in joining, so I created my own guild (of one) Today for the first time since I did, I had someone ask if he could join mine!! :laughks2: Since it really is not a guild I said no but he was almost stalking me with . . . . . "PLEEEEEASE!!! " repeatedly! I changed servers, no more problem ;)
