Sammy, what file type is it.
If you can open it up in say MSPaint, you can "File" "Save As" and change "Save as Type" to "Jpg" and then save it in the new format.

sammyh 08-08-2008 03:02 PM

oh. ok. it is bmp, actually. and i dont see it. when i go to save as, it doesnt do anything but let me save what its name is.

Thanks Charle88,

I could have done that, but I prefer to teach (goes alot farther), instead of do things for.

Here's a png version of it. Perfectly suitable for a page without the lossness of a jpg.

Paint/MsPaint (same thing to me... its the paint program that comes with windows).

Definately not the best, if you want to do much graphics stuff, best to get something a bit more capable/comprehensive (unfortunately they tend to cost).

Paint will work in a pinch though. :)

ok. i downloaded paint.net and have already almost made a mood. how do i put smilies on one though? do i copy and paste the code?

GIMP and Paint.net are basically the same as Photoshop. They are good when it comes to little forum stuff but if you want to actually design webpages and more advanced stuff Photoshop if what you need.

Pasting the code will not make a smiley. Smileys are additions to a forum that staff adds. That is why there is different smileys are different forums. To edit a smiley you must save it. Just right click and click on "Save Image As..." Then you pick where you want to save it to. I have never tried Paint.net before (as far as I can remember) but it depends on whether the program is able to animate. Try to find an animation window or something to find out whether or not it will work.
