my whole comuter freeze when I play potco!

ok, fist i got all the requirement to run potco for sure, with a ATI 700X serie video card, 127GB of free space, windows XP latest version, 1.5GB of ram and got directX 9. when I play I shut down all useless prosses like msn, launcher1 and other not related prosses. sinse potco take about 350 000 to 400 000 of mem usage. afther about 30min or 1h of gaming, then my coputer suddenly cut the screen connection telling me that he can't locate my computer and the music loop very fast. also it never stop doing it. :sadmh9:

Sounds like a problem with your soundcard/audio device. Perhaps updating the drivers for it will help to alleviate the problem.

Looping sounds are also often a sign of a possible hardware conflict, but since it happens AFTER 30mins-1hr, its not likely that unless the sound device itself is failing.

Maybe you accidentally stop an important process?
My computer has 1 GB Ram and i only stop the anti spyware and msn/yahoo processes.

Listen to Zep. Hes the only one, out of countless other people telling me what to do, that pin pointed my problem and told me how to fix it.

Have you tried DirectX 10 from windows update?

Since he is on Windows XP, there is no official DirectX 10 release.

However he could perhaps try the pandadx9 setting in the game_options.txt file.

The clue of a sound looping when it crashs however, doesnt seem to indicate a video related issue. Plus he has a video card on POTCOs list as supported, if his video drivers are up to date, its unlikely any video issue.
