I think I'm gonna need help...
So I've just spent the last three hours playing that darn SvS attempting to get my French tattoo... got to the last quest... 50,000 pts with out sinking... after many times of running away and fixing my boat I managed to muscle in 46k+ until getting blasted. :(
If I wasn't so angry I think I could cry... soooo close.... so much time wasted.... I absolutely HATE SvS!!!! |
Find a quiet server and get on with a friend. Blast the friend's ship over and over until you get the points.
No probs anymore, and no frustration. |
Mercy...We will do it the next time we are together.

Yea some of the things they ask is really tough and 50k is crazy but i agree on the friend thing find a quiet server and blast your friend away and if your friend has not done the quest and wants to then do the same for them :)

I agree that the quest is a bit too much for a tattoo and some loot.
I can never seem to find a willing crew for SvS, and I always seem to sink. |
I picked up both sides quests some time ago. Did the very first step on each (sink a ship), then stopped playing SvS needing to sink 5 of each sides ship.
Last night i got on with a friend, now we didnt just let one sink the other, well we did, but we had fun doing it.. not just sitting there and taking it like a stump (hehe sorry stumps). Anyhow, much to my surprise, when i got sunk... it counted for sinking a spanish ship. I'd heard this happen before but thought it'd been fixed. Well my friend had to sink 5 spanish ships in a row, and in so doing, and by sinking me 5 times, I got my 5 spanish ships I had to sink as well.. Wierdness! |
I just plain ol' don't like the SvS but since its a quest and its the only thing on my list I'm doing 'em so their gone!
Bella helped me out with the last 50k ordeal on French so that's one down! Now to get rid of Spanish. :x |
I didn't even start the quest on my 40 (he's mastered in everything except grenades which I will probably stop when I get to siege charge) so why quest for notoriety that does me no good (at least until they raise the caps which seems like will be the fifth of never).
On my second pirate, a plucky up and comer at level 21 I have them started and play them for a while when I'm tired of grinding weapons or doing the story quests. I started the questing later (I think I started seriously when I was level 19 and wanted to unlock grenades 100 pts for walking across the room- I have no shame) and have had an easier time of things. I am trying to keep things more balanced (and working the 'nades MUCH earlier) and usually tie the quests and grinding together. Now if you could get sailing or cannon rep for svs, that would be a different matter. No plans to start any other pirates. First one is good, learned from the mistakes and have applied them to the 2nd one. |
That's probably my biggest bone to pick with SvS, you get no rep for the sailing or cannons. I wish ya did, particularly with the time you have to spend doing the missions, even if ya have a friend helping you.
