Dagger Training?
 

If this has been discussed elsewhere, I appologize.

I just purchased a dagger but have no idea how to "get training" for it.

Can someone help me out?

you need to hunt around the blacksmiths and find a dagger that is 20 gold peices and is a grey box its a starter dagger I bought mine in the village in tortuga I think.. then just start hunting with it once u get to dagger lv 2 and get your first skill u will be concidered trained in it then u buy the better daggers I just learnd the flaming throwing dagger skill but i cant afford to buy the dang thing form the blacksmith lol...

Well, Unless they have changed this once again all your weapons (Dagger, Cutlass, Voodoo Doll, Grenade, etc) now have the "Require Training" message associated to them. The cutlass your suppose to train with at the blacksmith shop, and the voodoo doll you train on the island where you find barbozza (Forgot name of island, and I believe that is where you train). Unfortunately, It looks like the training portion is not working anymore within the game so if you purchase the upgraded cutlass after training you receive the message "Require Training" which you cannot do. I have a feeling this is either a bug, or the developers may have done this on purpose. I have not created a second character so not sure if this happens on a second character after training, but I know all my weapons say "Require Training"...

Well I've got the $20 dagger and the $200 dagger. Unfortunely, they both require training and I have no idea where to get it.

I think you get the training when you're level 8. Once I hit level 8, I had to go to Elizabeth and she wanted Will to make a weapon. So now I'm on a quest from Will gathering all the materials he needs to make a daggar or sword. We'll see if I get training once I'm done with the quest :p

Thanks; although all 3 of my characters are stuck at the moment and I'll never see level 8.

I had to delete 3 of mine and start all over because I was stuck. So far so good lol ok, now I need wood to knock on :p

Since I am not at level 8 on my dagger I cannot answer this question, but at one time during beta you could take weapons off and on your character. For example, Although I already performed training with my cutlass once I took it off and purchased the $200 cutlass, both the $20 and $200 cutlass both say require training. This causes you to not be able to place the cutlass back on your character, and since you cannot use it you can never receive level 8 cutlass. That is only an example, and I know others are running into the same issues...

I also am working on the will turner quest, but i can't find any coal in any of the barrels in the forts and i have no idea where to defeat a naval first mate. if you have any ideas, i'd appreciate it. thx

i slaughter a few on ships.. hit the water swim up to a navy ship and hit cntl to jump on then start fighting..

I'm stuck at the same two tasks you are stuck on :p

Hi Jane and swabby - I think you have already found the coal - right Jane? (I can PM ppl if you want to know) - I went with a group the other day and found the first mate - he is in jungle on Port Royal - the one behind crab beach - go with a friend as there are tree things and other attacking all at once. i was not able to get the tongs because the three I was with were friends and I was kinda along for the ride - - they left before I could do it and I wasn't about to be there alone!
Hope that helps... Also, grampa - I think the dev are waiting for the game release to let us know where the training is - frustrating but maybe they want to keep some surprises :)
