The floating navy needs fixing already!

I'm stressed lol. I was trying to get my grenades for my other pirate but due to her level only being around 20 when she was after grenades, it was tough when she came across an officer she couldn't avoid and had to fight. But when they start floating 10 feet above you and you can't attack them but they can still get you, it's just stupid! (I always have to run away so they 'fall' back down again, then i have to attune them asap before they float back up again). It's mainly officers that float when fighting, but surely if this simple problem has been happening for so long they should have fixed it. I think i need to do some more complaining. Casually taking a stroll through Kingshead, lookey what i found on the way:

I need more people to to complain, maybe if there is enough of us at once they might actually attempt to fix it? I don't know how many times i've seen that navy soldier outside Padres chase someone down to shipwright, and then the person can't attack them because they float up above shipwright itself. I always have to get out my staff and help them.

It happens with the Sergeants at Fort Charles all the time. You would think that they would know how to fix this by now. It has been a problem for several months now.

CrimsonRabbit 09-08-2008 06:44 PM

Totally needs to be fixed, but you can hit them with a sword when they're in the air floating though. You just need to be facing the correct direction....or at least I can.

Dr. Zeppers 09-08-2008 07:00 PM

That does it, im going to hit F7 and click that ? and report it EVERYTIME I deal with one of those shifty enemies. The attack from over my head where I cant attack with anything but an already attuned Voodoo Doll is getting OLD! Gonna have to flood Big D's message boxes.

SOMETIMES as CrimsonRabbit said, you can hit them, but I find that works only about 25% of the time!
Believe me.. I try.

lostinthelab 09-08-2008 08:30 PM

Agreed Zep. Every time I encounter one I'm going to report via F7 too. Maybe if we all do it, they'll fix it.

icemage 09-08-2008 08:39 PM

I already reported it the first time I saw it like a month ago. Nothing happened for me it is most common in Fort Charles and Padres del Fuego.

Im sure its been reported Icemage... but apparently not often/frequently enough for them to fix it..

I say... lets start sending the reports!!!!! flood the report boxes! (with valid reports mind you...)

Thanks, Zep, never knew that question mark exsisted! Now I can report bugs WAY easier

This is quite the annoying bug isn't it. You'd think this would have been added to the priority list. Not only due to the annoyance, but overall makes the game code just look sloppy along with the other glitches.

Floating is really annoying (unless I'm in the mood to practice throwing my 'nades at them), but what also get's me is when they end up inside the fort walls and attack you!

I'm looking all around like an idiot, going "where's he at? Where's he at?"

"Why he's in the solid wall dummy! Duh!"

Angel Daggerfury 09-09-2008 03:11 PM

Yup was at Kinghead the other day too, one of the Assassins was not in front of the jail's door, but he wayyyyyy off the fort, over the water LOL, there was no way anyone could run all the way out there or even attack coz I'm pretty sure it would all say "out of range". Thankfully I was only at KH for navy dudes & not eitc dudes coz the only Assassin I could find was the 2nd one in front of the door & the one that spawns in the lil room within the fort.

Anyways, the Navy dude down the hill at Fort Dundee is a huge one, I hate that floating dude so much, and in Tormenta, it is ALWAYS the Seabeards whenever something does float above me. =(

Scottish 09-09-2008 03:32 PM

Another thing i seen the other day was at Tortuga in Misty Mire. I was fighting a grenadier and he was trying to get away from me to throw grenades at me, when he went into a rock and stopped. Took me forever to kill him. Had to use tonic and still almost died.

This gets on my nerves bad. The Seabeards are hard enough to kill in the first place no matter what lvl you are. I think they are one of the toughest opponent in the game and they don't need any advantage.

Nautical Nattie 09-09-2008 03:35 PM

Ah, floating Seabeards i missed that one. They're definately hard enough even with maxed weapons and notoriety let alone when they float.

icemage 09-09-2008 10:13 PM

That only happened to me twice. That Navy Seargent near the hill is really annoying. It chases people down to the shipwright and starts attacking, trust I have experience.. and yeah EVERYONE PLEASE REPORT IT!!! thank you

Andrew 09-09-2008 10:42 PM

That happenes to me all the time, its really annoying. Usually I just go "AH, GHOST!, and get a good lauch out of it, now its just starting to get annoying. Ive yet to report it, but maybe i should now..
