what in the carribean is this?!

OK so im just doin a quest, finding a place to dig and look for treasure on Driftwood. I was trying to do the glitch where I could dig and move at the same time, instead I did something else... I Hit F1 and Shift at the same time at the digging spot and I get this:

I'm so not technical, but let me try to explain ;)

This is the log of your in game actions, the stuff that's sent to POTCO if you submit a bug report. Hope that makes some sense, and someone more computer literate than I can tell you what the correct "name" of it is.

swashbuckler II 09-28-2008 05:11 PM

Well Sarah you got half of it right.
Shift F1 Shows Where you are in the game, like a coordianate plain.
Shift F2 logs you out.
Shift F6 Kinda shows your lag i think. need to have Zep explain this one.

SHIFT F6 pings your character in other words it tells you how long it takes from the time your finger hit the key to go to the servers and back to your computer.

Stormhawk 09-28-2008 05:26 PM

I have had that before too. Don't understrand it.:)

Chris 09-28-2008 05:34 PM

I like to do that randomly its fun just to see all the tech stuff :D.

Captain Seaford 09-28-2008 06:30 PM

Yeah, it's no glitch. Theres another post about this too, maybe you should use the search button.

Swash 09-29-2008 02:07 AM

Lol Yea I've Done that.

Edward Edgemenace 09-29-2008 02:09 AM

If you've ever played the game ping-pong, you can understand a network ping. A tiny test "packet" of information is sent from your computer to the server, which it sends back. A 76 ms ping time, means it took 76 of 1,000th of a second for the message to go there and come back.

tnt user 09-29-2008 04:30 AM

posters above pretty much nailed it,interesting though.

Andrew 09-29-2008 03:27 PM

and yea dont fall for Shift+F2 like I did...;)

Im still confused on what Shift+F6 is
