HELP it will not work

I have been trying for three weeks probably and it dowloads and then it goes through to point where MSN says the launcher is not working.

What am I doing wrong and what can I do as I so wanted to play but it is ruining my life. I was reading a board and boom the support complaint form pops up in the middle of my typing on the board.

I am begging for help as I have over 4 gb space available, had DSL, no major programs besides IE and AVG running and AVG is silent so not using anything.

I stripped the computer to make more space. I have ripped out the program and reloaded it 5 or 6 times.

I so wanted to play and was so excite to be on the ground floor finally. I missed the first months of VMK.

Well, you're the only person whose Pirates game won't work. Me and many others have this problem as well. When the launcher comes up, it closes a minute later. It's not computer. It's probably a bug that they haven't fixed yet when they did the latest update. I filed a report on this, so if you want, you can too.

Please be more descriptive. What happens from the moment you open the application to the moment you know it is not working? What is the exact message displayed?

I am having that problem today but never had it before today - am hoping it is just a glitch on their end and not on my computer.

You definutely need to be more specific, I am running with 512 Ram and dial-up and have been able to play (well not today) for the last 3 weeks. This may not be a horrible computer but it is definutely not the ideal online gaming computer, and yet POTCO still plays. Maybe try downloading the launcher through IE rather than MSN.

Everything is fine and it is loading like Toontown used to then I get that MSN message that something is wrong. Then comes the pop up in a new tab to contact them.

Everything is fine and no lagging or pull like I can get from the new version of VMK

I am having this same problem, I believe. I'll try to describe it in detail. Ever since yesterday morning, this has been occurring...

The launcher comes up fine, and I enter my account name and password. It goes through all the login procedures; the "verifying" stuff. Then, once the game switches to the window where I will actually be playing the game (it appears in the top left of the screen as the launcher application disappears.) Seconds after this window appears, a message appears as follows...

Quote:

Pirates of the Caribbean Online! has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience...
Then it gives me the option to send or not send an error report to Microsoft about the problem.

This occurse every time I try to log in. Can someone please help me!

We can't help you, almost everyone has the same problem. we can't login. just wait until they fixed it.

But the error after the launcher is new to this patch, Sweephunters issue has been going on for 3 weeks. I think it is a seperate issue. But it probably wont work with this patch anyway no matter what you do.

Sweephunter, does it happen after the launcher fetches phase 5 and closes then opens a new window (i.e. starting the program) or is it while still fetching? and if so which one? How much RAM do you have? What OS do you have?

brammie2118 05-21-2007 02:15 PM

PC running Windows XP (I heard Vista is ok)
2 GHz or faster processor
1 GB RAM
128 MB video card
DirectX 9 or better
Broadband Internet connection

these are the minimum requirements.
