They fixed the ship glitch(flag ship)

They fixed the glitch for flag ships were you can't get atacked

bpg2012 10-27-2008 01:19 AM

Yea, it wasn't really a glitch. The reason why is because they made it where you CAN be attacked after disabling a flag-ship before they couldn't so yea way to go everyone who took advantage of this feature of not having to fear of being sunk while on a flag ship because now they can attack us while we are boarding because so many people took advantage of of the no attack thing

that glitch isnt very old... and I'm glad they repaired it. AS much as I spout about them fixing glitches, in the last few months since this glitch has been around I've noticed many pirates getting 'lazy'... not learing how to shoot properly, poor aim, bd choices in cannon ammo picks...

Sailing was nver REALLY hard to begin with - if players took the time to level up gradually, get their lighting and practive with it while doing quests on smaller ships to get the masts, learning to sail properly to avoid ships so when it came time to get big ships they were ready to do it...

Yes, the glitch was fun for exploring NPC ships (like hunting for the infamous Ghost Captain... though many of us only ever found high level Raiders on them boats ;) ) - but besides that it was making a lot of pirates... NOT be pirates! :D

So 'pirate-up', learn your skills, and in a short time you wont even miss the glitch :) There are bigger arguments to tackle than this in the game *whips pen back out for arguing Hex and KH Fence hehe*

I totally agree, there is no reason to do that glitch, if you get a good crew and sail smart you can take out a whole fleet of ships without sinking. And sailing and cannons are about the easiest thing to master. :pumpkinani:

Aye- sadly they fixed it :(
it was always good for leveling up..and getting cargo

However now that im a pirate master I dont need a glitch to help me level up :D

Exactly. It took almost no time for my pirates to master these skills, as they are the ones you use most often to get gold, and easiest to do with multiple level pirates.

Of all the glitches, this was my least favorite, and the only one I'm not sad to see go. The ships acted funny anyway when using this glitch.

Ships won't attack your ship if you have boarded the flag ship. If you're still in the process of grappling, yes, they will still attack but once you're on you'll be safe from those ships until you re-board your ship.

I wasn't really a big fan of using that bug. Chasing the NPC ships down wasn't my idea of a good time. Wasted more time chasing them. Relying on tactics and strategy makes it more fair and challenging. I would rather have the enemies shoot back than to make the rep grind seem like a rep grind.

I thought i would really miss that glitch, but i hadn't used it in a long time having mastered sailing and when i used it once more before the updates (for old times sake one last time) i HATED it, i had to chase the ships all over and half the time my cannons missed completely. I much prefer it when the ships focus on you when you hit them once and then your broadsides are much more accurate. Plus, it teaches you a lot about having to avoid other ships, when to speed up and slow down, when to turn etc :). I'll admit my new low level pirate may find it difficult, but the game wasn't designed to have this glitch so we'll have to do it the right way and i'll be much more satisfied knowing i did it the right way too.

I myself don't miss this glitch. It is good for stuff such as exploring other ships, but that is now impossible to do anyway since you can't get overboard. Also as Nautical Nattie said above......

I used to use it a long time ago to level cannon. Nowadays, I guess I'm planning on using the Boss Battle.

Lvling cannon on a ghosted ship wasnt the easiest way to lvl. It was waaay to hard to catch up with the ship thats turning. Best way to lvl cannons now seems to board public ships and just server hop. Been doing that on my little toon. Its working so far. Other then that try getting a friend to sail for you meanwhile you shoot. The upside of that is you both get some gold.

Sven Osymthe 11-04-2008 08:34 PM

When I was lvling my cannons up I either had help from friends, my little pirate, or I just ran back and forth between the cannon and wheel. If you can't get any help from someone else and don't feel like using public ships you could try the cannon to wheel way, thats what I was using the day I mastered my cannons

Nautical Nattie 11-05-2008 01:48 AM

Best way i find for cannons now is to get a frigate, let someone sail and stay a distance away from skeleton ships, let them take of the sails and then level that way with round shot. 4 front cannons on a war frigate i think are best, gets boring i guess for the person sailing though :) But effective and no glitches needed.
