New Test server Updates...

Greetings Mates,
My Pirate brother posted this at our other site, so I copied it (like a good Pirate!) and brought it over to share,.. COOL STUFF !

For anyone that has Test access you need to log in and check out the new and highly improved Port Royal!!! I think it is sweet! They seperated port royal and fort charles, Fort Charles now looks like a base, Port royal is now not a beach city but more bunched together and has winding roads! there is no more running up that stupid hill to get to fort charles!!!! Now there is a real cemetary instead of a couple of tombstones! you have to see it, it looks cooler and runs alot smoother! there are also sand crabs on the beach again near the ship right just like in the beta days!

Awesome! I can't wait. I got tired of running up that hill all the time, lol! I wonder when it will be released? Thanks for the update! It gives me something to look forward to.

Thanks for the information. Can you be a little more specific on the seperation of Fort Charles from Port Royal? Do you have to sail to each individually or is it similar to going from one area through the portal into another area?

I definately like the addition of the color button when browsing clothes.

Ths isn't new for me.
There's another island called bilgewater in the files and that's what the new port royal is.
It's been updated big time, although I'll miss the old port royal.

Its just a door in port royal (along athe fortress wall - just like when you arrive at the Kings Docs...) - so its more portal than going anywhere :)

It appears that they change PR severly, allowing for more isolated areas of town (likely cutting down a bit of lag). The town is larger, more spread out, with a maze of roads/paths to follow. It looks excellent. Downsides will it will make quests a bit harder to find things, thsoe that sail out of PR, will have lengthly walks thru town (instead of down the beach) upon thier return to get to the shipwright to repair your ship for the next voyage.

Really does look nice, but not the changes most pirates are looking for.

Crew hud has alot more functionality, but there is no longer a crew list to use.
Some characters are removed (or missing) (ie June.. they're gonna have to put her back in, or rewrite the "Greer" part of the story quest.

Overall the new layout is quite nice, just not what we'd hoped they'd been spending their time on once again. Not sure why they keep asking us what we'd like to see when they dont appear to be doing ANY of it.

What they have done, definately looks nice though, Port Royal is alot more of a "town" with the changes than before.

I have to agree Zep,.. in the Grogs Blog, I made a few comments and then finished it with a statement of "this must have taken much time and resources"

I too like the new Port royal perhaps because it's new... BUT.....

not to be negative or destructive,..
I must say…. could the resources have been better applied toward getting the cap level off the 40's and getting the second chapter out there for all the maxed out Pirates?
It’s not like this was a 24 hour remake on PR.

I know this may sound odd or contradictory coming from me,..
but the new Land alterations, events and contests being presented by Disney I fear may only irritate a festering wound of miss-allocated time and resources? :sadmh9:

Completely Agreed.

I like the new look, I like having new nooks and crannies to explore...but i would rather put my lev 40's to use and have some new baddies to defeat, new quests to work on, and level them up to...oh...60?!?

sigh

*nodding in approval* yep - its nifty for 10 minutes - but since it seems many didnt have a port royal issue (or if there was a slight one - you are not there hardly past Level 12-13 anyway, so who cares?) - time on this vs. time on a NEW STORYLINE is considered a loss...

The 'newsletter' arriving as Chris posted - when it comes out with their ideas - had better knock some socks off....
