Well - here's an approximate timeline for JD in the next year...not slowing down anytime soon, that's for sure:
Jan - voice RANGO

March - May (I am guessing a quick 10 -12 week shoot) The Rum Diary
June - promo PE
(Public Enemies, being released Summer 2009)
July - August Dark Shadows ( should be another 10 -12 week shoot)

Then, he's also made the deal with Disney to star in POTC4 (2012 release) and The Lone Ranger (no release date yet). And his production company, Infinitum Nihil, has options on numerous books and screenplays, many of which are considered to be starring vehicles for him.
So I wouldn't say he's ready to start collecting Social Security and wearing black socks with sandals anytime soon.
