I find the Galleon boring to sail though: all sideward cannons save the rear two, slow sailing speed (seeming all the slower with the huge sails), slow turning. The Frigate is rather fun when you take advantage of those cannons.

I don't really think any of the ships in the game are ugly. I like the Sloop class the most anyway: I'd choose a War Sloop over the other ships if they had all cost the same and I just had to choose one (because you can just sell a War Galleon to buy the War Sloop, and the War Frigate when sold would put you 3/4s of the way toward the Galleon or 10k up over the Sloop).
