When I posted this thread this morning, I didn't do it to be a griefer thread, more of an observance of how I see the general progression of the game going. Please don't turn it into a rant.
I see that I have touched a nerve with quite a few players. Just to clarify, I have two pirates fully mastered, all skills. I have my third one at level 36 1/2 and have kept the game interesting by attempting to reach level 40 without doing ANY of the Pearl quest. My fourth pirate is level 12, and I will bring him along much more conventionally. I am NOT saying to leave the game, and I am not saying that all guilds are dying or dead. The guild that I am in, Dueces Wild, is a great guild. We are still very active and expanding.
I also know that there are quite a few good guilds out there. But most guild expansion is coming from the collapse of a lot of other guilds, which is due to Disney's inablility to keep us active. Total enrollment in the game has dropped drastically. And there have been almost no "NEW" players coming into the game.
A few of the items that I detailed in my first post could be the incentive to bring our friends back, and bring in new players.
The last truely good update was in the spring when they brought back the Boss Battle. Everything else has been nothing more than a carrot hanging on a stick. New little quests, unnecessary weapons upgrades, clothes???, and Ship vs. Ship battles. None of these does ANYTHING for a mastered pirate. And, although they give rep to lower level pirates, they are a waste of rep for the senior levels.Since the spring, the only truly good thing was the ability to relearn skills by assigning skill points. It allowed those of us who made mistakes the first time around to correct those mistakes.
