The events wouldn't be
so bad and pointless if they would release something worthwhile, or at least add a little quest like they did with the Father's Day event. For being a "multibillion dollar company" they could stop putting all that money into advertisements for Hannah Montana and so on, and put a little more into their online games. I know it may sound like nagging, but it took 4 months to master my first pirate, I've stuck around for the past 5 months for the wonderful friends I've made, and the fantastic guild that I am in now. I think Disney's trying to make it look like they care about those diehards that are sticking around, but I really really hope they are finally starting to see how much their game lacks.
