If you have to board the ship, the easiest way to sink it and get credit for it is this: After you have grappled on, shoot grape shot at the crew until they die. Then you board, and since the crew is dead, you sink the ship and get loot and exp. credit for it. It is much easier than having to board and actually fighting the officers on board. Hope this helps!
