Del--my heart goes out to ye, mate. Leadership has its responsibilities. One of the basic tenets is seek responsibility and take responsibilty for your actions. Some leaders assume too much responsibility, and I think you may be in this category. Your griefer must have been trusted by you. Your griefer did what he/she did and that is their issue, not yours.
The real question is this: If you're willing to dissolve your guild, then why aren't you willing to keep it and try to figure out what went wrong and by whom? I think you COULD have a decent guild--all guilds have problems and setbacks and they seem cyclic. One day you're on top of the world, and the next you're losing all your officers. It's not YOU, it's the cycle of guilds.
