Wait, let me take that back. Once you've been a virus target (hit) your IP will usually get blitzed for quite a while afterward. Turn windows firewall back on; properly enter the exception for port 7667 then exempt launcher1.exe and pirates.exe explicitly. (Re: closing thread; you'd be amazed how many people *AHEM-NOT ME* do this exact same thing.)
Boy, what a lesson in humility it was, after getting irate with live support, only to discover my router had the wrong DMZ! Duh, I guess it was a firewall issue, after all. Duh, duh, duh. *Headdesk*
