Oh, OK. Yes, last few times I've done serious levelling (especially on grenades,) I definitely did throw in TAUNT, CURSE and THROW DIRT after every 5 or 10 'nades. But the focus was on levelling 'nades. Same thing to a lesser extent, for pistol and staff.
On the beach, no the boss doesn't turn gray. But the gypsies and grenadiers that I like to roll in with him, do. Pretty inefficient.
