Very true - its an 'all pirates' or none. If you plan to have a 'secret pirate' where others will not see you on - then the 2nd button is NOT a good option (they see any pirate you play - and vice versa as you see them play all their pirates).
So - for a few friends who you want to see playing all your pirates - 2nd button is a cool choice... otherwise just use the 1st friend button
