You can purchase Keyboards and a few Controllers which actually allow you to Map Keys (make any key on the keyboard work the way you want in the game - so for example M is for your Map Page under your Treasure Chest - but with a Mapping Keyboard / Controller you could change that to whatever key you want.)
Because the game does not allow for you to assign functions to any key you want (hence M for Map you cannot change in the game) - some specual Keyboards and Controllers come with extra software that allow you to do this.
Sorry though - I don't own a MAC and don't own a Mapping KB / Controller either - so I can't help ya on a suggestion
