Hmm.. the end of the world can seem kind of hidden if ye never sailed that far. Just keep sailing toward the end  of the map and you will see a message come up saying:
"You have to the end of the world. Turn back and continue your voyage"  (or something of that nature)

That was awesome! I actually did it by accident, I went to go eat dinner and upon coming back i was still sailing and it said "you have reached the edge of the earth, turn back and continue your voyage"
