Money, mate.

Evening ^-^

If we could trade me and my Captain would be proud owners of a War Galleon by now, instead of only half way there. If we could trade, even if it were for petty items such as napkins and tangerine gauntlets and other silly favors, it would give the developers an excuse to allow us to customize our clothing as so much of the community is already wishing we could.

If we could trade we could do alot of different things... and while that isn't much incentive for some players, the sense of community would be enhanced if nothing else. As I posted earlier my intent on this game is not to "Be the baddest a** pirate/captain possible with the meanest crew and the biggest guns to kill the most men and creatures with the most fire and boomdeathpwnage!!" ...not that, that is not a fine goal to have, setting your dreams high is an awesome thing to do in my opinion, but again I am here for the community, and there isn't much of a communal feeling to a community that can not interact with one another beyond at the point of a sword.

Granted it's not for everyone, but if the Captains didn't have gunners, the ships wouldn't have Crews, and the seas wouldn't have pirates, nor navy dogs nor lore to boot. In the same light, if gunslingers didn't have sword savvy mates, they wouldn't have range for their aim, and swordsmen/women wouldn't have eyes to their aft without gunslinger mates of their own. I'll not elaborate on Voodoo healing, being as my point that contrasts compliment each other has already been made.

Did pirates trade? Davey Jones traded Jack Sparrows' debt for 100 souls of worthy or otherwise caliber, William Turner traded Jack Sparrows compass for the 'alliegance' of the Eastern India Trading Company, and Jack Sparrow himself traded imortality on the high seas for love. Of course pirates traded, but all of this paling in contrast to the simple fact that thousands upon thousands of people all playing a single game not being able to trade anything at all is as much of a contradiction as having a trading engine without anything to trade. If there aren't items to trade, implement some. If there isn't time to do as much, permit the trade of gold in the least for obvious applications and reasons.

This is my case. I'm not upset by anyone having a different opinion than me, and respect all of the posts made on this thread. I simply wish to make a strong case now, that I may one day be able to support my loyal Crew and superior Captain properly.
