There is nothing going on with the codes as of yet. Test or open. The only thing that has happend in the past with codes had to do with the Founders Feast and the Races on Tortuga. The winner(s) got a code from the GM's, and when entered, they were rewarded with Gold. I can only assume that there will be more events in the future that will call for using the "codes" for special pieces of clothing.
Wait and See.
