May I make a suggestion?

If you don't care about your guild standings in the Top100, go make a new guild. Pick one of your senior officers, who is willing, and have them become the GM. Call it something like Partners in Crimez. Once the guild exists, you can move all of your pirates into it.

This is what happened last year when The Elite Circle lost our GM. After 3 months of her bieng MIA, we decided that we couldn't progress any further as a guild. That's why there is a Dueces Wild. Only a few of us watched or cared as TEC moved slowly down and out of the Top100 rankings. It was actually way more exciting to watch DW move into them.

The real problem, and the only major problem, with not having a GM is that no one can be promoted to officer. Eventually, you only have one or two officers left. Other people can fill in for the missing GM, as long as you don't argue about who is in charge.

If you feel that you don't want to sit by and watch the PIC guild standings deteriorate through the Top100, and you want to stay on as PIC, then you must decide who is the ACTING GM, and live with the fact that no one can ever be promoted. Again, this can work as long as you don't lose too many of your existing officers.
