I know I'm posting again but I think this would be a positive upgrade for guilds.
Let's say that most of the officers are off and the GM is away. If there are ten members on and one grumpy officer, there's going to be some chaos. In previous guilds I have seen many times where members have been banned because of the abuse of power.
You can't just expect all the officers to be perfect little robots and be happy all the time. They're people too. Sometimes officers can get grumpy and ban members. If they could just put a checkmark by a member instead then that would save that member from being banned. That officer could explain(if he/she has the courage) that he/she was grumpy and was getting very irritated.
No one's perfect. You can't expect an officer to get along with everyone in the guild. If an officer in the guild doesn't like a member does that give them the right to ban that person? Nope, but who's there to stop them? No one.
If you can get along with everyone in the game raise your hand. *someone raises hand* You're a robot!
None of us can get along with everyone. Some members can be irritating to other members. We just have to accept the fact that the power can be abused. No guild is perfect.
IMO, unless more than half of the members in a guild agree that someone should be an officer, they shouldn't be. We need this power to spread out so that every member can be considered equal.
