Guide: Luring An Enemy For 1v1 (Close Combat)

Ever wanted to defeat an enemy, but the enemy is near another enemy and you wanted a 1v1? Wanted a lower enemy, but a higher one was near it? Afraid you'll die on a 1v2? Well be afraid no longer! CaptainMonkeys here with a guide on how to lure an enemy for a nice 1v1.

Getting Started
To get started on your luring adventure, you must make sure you have a pistol (voodoo staff, dagger or grenades for those EITC or Navy Soldiers) and a weapon you are training to finish the enemy off. Here's an example: I want to train my cutlass, and I have a pistol. I first take out my pistol, shoot the enemy once, then switch to the weapon of choice. In this case, the cutlass. I then finish off the enemy with the cutlass. You can use any type of shot, but the ideal one for luring for maximum reputation is the lead shot.

Luring The Enemy
To lure the enemy, you must have the enemy locked on. If you hit him or not, he will still come after you, as long as you are within shooting range (where it locks on) Take out your lure weapon of choice, and send an attack flying at the enemy. If you hit it or not, it will still come after you.

Combat
The combat part is quite easy. Just finish off the enemy with the weapon of choice. If you are fighting those red enemies, make sure you have a few potions or a healer!

2v1
In the event of a 2v1 battle, which is you and another pirate vs. the enemy, just try to get more hits in then your enemy for the better reputation.

Luring Exceptions
There are a few luring exceptions, though. You cannot shoot the living (ie. Navy, EITC) with your pistol AT ALL, but luring may work.(?) In this event, you can use your voodoo staff, dagger, or grenades to lure them. Take into account that the grenades and dagger require ammo to lure so the best choice is your staff for luring. Also, as OFxZeppers says later in this post, sometimes luring does not work like you want it to. It will attract mobs. An example of a mob is the many soldiers on Kingshead. Hit one, attract all of them except the one seperated from the others.

1v2 Incidents
In the incident of a 1v2 incident, don't worry! Just fight both of them. Use your cutlass sweep or multi-enemy attacks like Wither or Desolation to take them out. While waiting for that sweep to charge, attack the stronger enemy to take them out quickly.

Well, that wraps up my luring guide. Please comment!
