For example in the Cargo class you might have:
1. Fleut (replacing lite gallon)
2. Gallon (replacing reg Gallon)
3. Indiaman (Replacing War Gallon)
Fighter Class:
!. Brigantine
2. Frigate
3. Man o War or Ship of the line
Fast Ships
1. Sloop
2. Brig Sloop
3 Schooner.
I'm guessing a lot here and probably don't have many of the types right (or the periods), but you get the idea.
I agree with Zep we don't need stronger ships. But having more types of ships with some historical accuracy would be nice.

here is how the order could go
war ships:
East Indiaman
Ship Of The Line
Vasa
Frigate
Cargo Ships :
Fulte
Galleon
East Indiaman
Galley
Schooner
high speed sailing ships
East Indiaman ( Black pearl is the fastest ship in the Caribbean and East Indiamans were as fast as frigates so they go in here as well)
Xebec
Brigantine
Brig
Cutter
Frigate ( these ships were very fast)
Sloop
Schooner
Mostly the idea back in the 17s-18s was to get cargo were it needed to go as fast as it could in scene war ships were actually slow except for the Frigate and East indiaman
