I was easily able to simulate a DC.

I went sailing, obtained some cargo/plunder, disabled my network card.
Game reported "your internet connection.. .blah blah..." basically the game saw it as a standard DC. No internet access.

Renabled my network card, tested internet was back, and launched pirates again.
Went to ship, 0 cargo. I think the game thought she was at sea still whether she was or not in this case. If there is such a new feature they failed to notify us of it, and its incredibly buggy (never works). If it is something theyve added, it not being anything they've mentioned, and seeming to not work 99.99% of the time (Sarah got that .01% I reckon), its unlikely anyone would bother to test/report it.
Again.. i'd say it was a fluke... they do happen.

Added: Ok, well i've seen it now. It seems when we get DC'd by DISNEY, this happens. Here are screens of me after I relogged from what appeared to be a server/ocean wide DC. Looks cool eh? Well it didnt give me a single piece of gold for it when I landed me ship.
