Cursed? Doubtful. Did I do it? You bet I did! I have 8 pirates. Of them, only my level 36 was able to do all the quests. One leveled up to 16 in doing them, so 2 did the fourth quest. Two more did the quests up to the 3rd one. Five of them did the level 9 one, one of them making it to 10 on it. And three pirates are so baby that they could only do the first quest. Was it worth it?

Let's see, all but my newest baby funneled their gold to Kat, my biggest pirate and the one currently in use. She started Friday with a bit more than 24K in gold. She ended the day with a bit more than 48K, me having blasted through all my babies as well as the first 3 on Kat herself. Yesterday I finished Kat and she now has 54K gold. I made 30K in just 2 days!! Worth it? You bet it is! You tell me another way to earn 30K with that little work. Took me literally 6 weeks to decide (finally) that I might as well buy a war frigate. It will be inside a week for me to actually earn the thing.

Got a lot of glows doing this too, not just for notoriety, but for weapons on the baby pirates. Out of my 8 half hit a new notoriety level doing these.

So what if this brings down Jolly Roger? Let it!! Walter and his little buddies took far too long putting out new stuff. I may not have had to wait for it myself, but many in my guild did. If this is gonna hurry them up on adding a second chapter to the Pearl Quest, you bet I'm gonna help it along. (And the gold and rep were a very nice bonus indeed!)

For those of you who think that maybe all pirates who do it will end up undead, I'm not so sure, but if we do, oh well. Imagine the fun of mass PvP's on open beaches! Nother little side benefit there.

I don't think they can really do anything bad to us, cause as Dr. Zeppers pointed out on another thread, they gave no warning that anything bad would happen to anyone doing these quests. That's just my thought. What everyone else does is up to them.

However, I do think it's wrong for a GM to tell their guild members how they can or can not play the game. It's not a GM's place to say you have to not do a quest. Yes, a GM is in theory the most important member in a guild. They are also, in practice, members of said guild themselves. I would say if a GM tries to force players to play their way, even for something this small, than said GM better expect to see some of the guildmates leave for it!
