This confused the heck out of me for a while - I've used a Mac laptop for years (with a generic mouse) but just recently started using a desktop here and there. I believe there is a way to enable right clicks on your Apple mouse. Try going to System Preferences and select Keyboard & Mouse. Click the Mouse tab at the top. There should be 2 drop down boxes, one by each side of the mouse. Click the right drop down and select Secondary Button instead of Primary Button. This should make it so clicking the right side of the mouse (where a right click button would be on a generic mouse) performs the right click function.

I hope this works/helps. From my experience the Disney people are 10,000% Mac illiterate. I have asked a couple questions before and gotten ridiculous answers like the one you got. I have quite the list of gripes about Disney's handling of Mac players.
