I suggest that you get yourself a membership. My parents were always more keen on giving me a long-lasting birthday or Christmas present, one that wouldn't set me in front of a TV or computer all day. This can be something special.
But aye, don't go for the renting a game. They tend to short-lived, especially when you must return them in a week
