In that screenshot you can clearly see how far I am from the house. I have guildmates who were there and back me up that I was only ever polite. She got me I think because she was frustrated that for over 15 minutes people would not stay out of her house. So she just knocked out all of us in range. But notice many are left standing. Off to the left, just past this screenie were several other laid out innocent pirates. It's one thing to target miscreants and disruptors. It's another thing entirely for a GM to take out their frustration on innocents. I just don't thing that's right.

Now I'm not saying a GM should have the patience of a saint or anything like that. They are human, and I get that. But broad spectrum punishing people following all the rules because you're annoyed with the ones who aren't? No. The GM's should have to do it individually. When she got me 10 or more went down at the exact same time. That leaves room for error.

I will freely admit I sent a whisper to Constance, several in fact, not that I expected an answer. I asked what I did wrong, explained that I had only been trying to help calm the crowd, had not been in the house. I told her that I understood she was dealing with a rowdy crowd, but that she had had no call to knock me out. Don't know how much of that she read, or even saw, but I was royally angry at the time.

Funny thing? I remained polite even though I was furious at ending up groggy for no reason. Even as a bystander I was not gonna join the crowd of others who she hit innocently in getting back at her by going in her house to make her angry.

Yes, these guys are human. And that's my point. Human emotion can cause human reactions like lashing out at people not doing anything wrong. If GM's are going to have this power, then it needs to be used on one pirate at a time, not as a group attack.

Hawke,

Me hats off to ya for maintaining yourself during this incident. I can see your point and would have to agree. It would solve these issues if the GM was able to knockout one pirate at a time or be able to control the area of effect.

And I would hope that the GM's would take the time to review their chat box contents after an event like this.
