We might be thinking of the same movie, a TV movie just called "Blackbeard." Was supposedly pretty historically accurate but I don't really think it was. Had some real-life famous names like Maynard and Calico Jack but the story was about him searching for Captain Kidd's treasure. Was a good movie all the same.
